I hope the holidays didn’t burn you out too much, and that Santa was good to you.
At the tail-end of 2008 I was elected to the Board of the Markham Arts Council. Hopefully I can make a positive contribution to the arts during these hard economic times.
I also helped build and launch the new website for the Markham Teen Arts Council, the next generation of the arts in our region. This group is made up of dynamic creative teenagers representing local schools in the Markham area, and I volunteered on behalf of the Markham Arts Council to advise them on their organization structure and publicity. They have many events planned for 2009 aimed at raising the awareness of creativity in our youth. Check them out when you have a moment.
Also as you know, I showcased some new pieces at the Markham Village Art Show and Sale. Here’s a link to the photo-media site SNAP who were present at the opening reception. This link shows pictures of the event.
Its back to the grind now as the new year looks promising for new ventures and more creativity.
On behalf of my family, I’d like to wish you and yours a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
