Fresh paint

As promised here’s a sneak preview of some new pieces that I’ve painted lately. More are on the horizon as I replenish my catalogue.

A couple of new wet-on-wet pieces include “Red Dawn” and “A Hint of Red“. I also worked on some new mixed-media pieces where I merge original photo reproductions (shot by yours truly) with impasto painting, including “Taking a Break“, featuring a photo taken on Toronto Island, “Under Peruvian Skies“, featuring I photo I took at Machu Picchu in Peru after a challenging 4-day hike across the Inca Trail with my wife Robyn; and “Beckett Farm“, that features a photo I took from my back fence at a beloved farm that’s now on sale – soon to be redevelopment fodder.

These paintings and more will be seen at the Markham Village Art Show and will be priced to sell.

I have more new pieces in the works which will hopefully make it to the show. So come to Markham, 74 Main St (Markham Road) from June 19th to 28th, 2009 and see them live. Better yet, drop by the gallery for the opening reception, June 18th (6 – 10pm) and share a glass of wine with me.

Rhiana’s got some new pieces that’ll be shown. Here’s a peek of what to expect from her. See you there!
